Road Patrol Division

The Road Patrol of the Sandersville Police Department provides uniformed police response to emergency and non-emergency calls within the Sandersville City Limits 24 hours a day seven days a week.

The Road Patrol duties are varied and include response to 911 calls, visible police patrol, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, criminal investigations, response to tactical incidents, service of search and arrest warrants, and crime prevention.

Captain Kelly Collins serves as the Captain for the Uniform Patrol Division where he oversees day-to-day operations of patrol personnel. Captain Collins joined the Sandersville Police Department in 2000.

Captain Collins is a certified Training Instructor and oversees the firearms, taser and In-service training for the Sandersville Police Department.

Other duties of the UPD Captain include, but are not limited to making routine shift assignments, evaluating the performance and or productivity of the officers in the Patrol Division.

FREE COVID TESTING INFORMATION

Free COVID-19 testing is offered twice weekly in Sandersville -- Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. until noon. For screening for testing through the North Central Health District, you must contact the COVID-19 testing number 844-987-0099 to get a referral for testing. The health district also offers testing on different days in each county in the district (see schedule here).
