Finance Department
The City of Sandersville Finance Department is responsible for the administration of the City's financial operations in accordance with legal requirements and generally accepted accounting principles. The department's primary responsibilities are to safeguard the City's assets, ensure cost efficiencies, provide financial support to departments, and provide timely accurate information. The department oversees accounting and reporting, treasury management, cash receipts processing, budgeting, accounts payable and vendor approval, payroll processing and assist in the CDBG/CHIP grant program management.
The mission of the Finance Department is to manage the fiscal affairs of the City of Sandersville and to provide effective decision-making support for the Mayor and Council and City Administrator.

The Finance Department's primary functions are as follows:
- Accounts Payable
- Payroll/Tax Reporting
- Purchasing/Bids/Surplus Sales/Vendors
- Budget Preparation and Submission
- Miscellaneous Receivables/Invoicing
- Banking and Reconciliations
- Property and Liability Insurance
- Asset Inventory
- Travel/Training Arrangements
- Assist with Audit Processes-Financial and Workers Compensation
The Municipal Court Clerk's Office is a division of the finance department. This office is is responsible for all activities related to the Municipal Court and its proceedings. Some of those functions include:
- Court Docket Preparation/Dispositions, etc.
- Citation Status/Updates
- NCIC and GCIC Certification
- Criminal Record Update
- Assists Municipal Court Judge and Solicitor as needed
Brianna Wiley currently serves as the Finance Director and Municipal Court Clerk for the City of Sandersville. Brianna joined the city in May 2007 as a Customer Service Representative, then moved to the billing department in 2009. She then transferred to the Finance Department in October 2010 where she served as the Accounting Assistant until she was promoted to her current position in 2014.
Leslie Williams currently serves as Accounting Coordinator for the City of Sandersville. Leslie joined the City in August 2010 as a Customer Service Representative. Leslie was promoted to her current position in the Finance Department in August 2013.
Travis Fort currently serves as Purchasing Agent for the City of Sandersville. Travis joined the City in January 2006, starting in the street maintenance department before moving over to the water department. Travis has worked in various city departments and has his CDL license. He started his current position in November 2020.
